Xan Campos is one of the most distinctive and recognized voices in contemporary Iberian jazz. Born in Cangas in 1987, he trained at conservatories in Germany, the Netherlands, and Denmark, developing a musical language that draws from the freest forms of contemporary jazz and a constant exploration of structure and timbre. With five albums as a bandleader and over thirty as a sideman, he has performed at major festivals across Europe and Latin America and collaborated with some of the most renowned figures in international jazz. His music is marked by rhythmic experimentation, expressive harmonies, memorable melodies, and a blend of influences ranging from electronic music to impressionism, including Galician folk, pop, and progressive rock, always with a clear desire to challenge conventions.
